24 People Arrested For Starting Australia Wildfires, Hollywood Still Blames Climate Change

The devastating wildfires that have scorched hundreds of thousands of pristine wilderness in the Australian Outback has garnered worldwide attention. That was especially true after Sunday night’s Golden Globes awards show, where many high-profile celebrities cried out to continue the fight against “climate change,” which they suggested was the primary cause for the outbreak.

However, according to Breitbart and several other mainstream sources, “climate change” doesn’t appear to play much of a role in the fires, as news broke of Australian law enforcement arresting 24 arsonists who are being charged with starting wildfires across the country.

Adding to that, over 100 people have been accused of starting wildfires across the country.

“More suspects are expected to be questioned in coming days as local police work to find and apprehend culprits who have contributed to the devastating fire season, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.”

“It reports police arrested 183 people nationally for lighting bushfires across Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania in the past few months. Queensland state police say 101 people have been picked up for setting fires in the bush, 32 adults and 69 juveniles,” Breitbart’s report indicated.

While fires this year are particularly bad, summer wildfires across the continent are well-documented, as there is typically always an uptick in arsonist/firebug activity during the summer break in Australia.

ABC News reported that “Dr Paul Read, co-director of the National Centre for Research in Bushfire and Arson, said the great majority of Australian bushfires are deliberately lit by ‘cunning, furtive and versatile criminals.’

A number of celebrities have called for greater attention to their perceived climate change dangers, along with a growing list of American politicians.

During the Golden Globe awards, A-lister celebrity Jennifer Aniston made a plea on behalf of Australian native Russel Crowe, claiming that without a doubt, climate change is the culprit behind the Australian fire outbreak and failing to mention the growing number of arsonists arrested.

“Make no mistake,” Aniston said, reading Crowe’s statement. “The tragedy unfolding in Australia is climate change based.”

Earlier this year, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blamed a severe storm outbreak in Washington D.C. on climate change. While much more uncommon, tornadoes and severe storms have affected that part of the country for as long as science can determine.
