On Sunday, the unthinkable happened at a church in White Settlement, Texas, when an armed intruder opened fire during a church service at West Freeway Church of Christ, only to be nearly instantly fought off by a number of armed citizens inside the church, including one security guard.
According to Daily Wire, armed members of the congregation were only carrying legal firearms because Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed it into law earlier this year and as was proven today, thank God that he did. The gunman was stopped dead in his tracks.
But 2020 Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden went on record for criticizing Gov. Abbott’s law that lets members of the church arm themselves.
Just a few short months ago, at the beginning of September, Biden called the Abbott and the new law “irrational.”
“Dealing with firearms, it is irrational, with all due respect to the governor of Texas, irrational what they are doing,” Biden told reporters on September 2. “On the very day you see a mass shooting … and we’re talking about loosening access to have guns, to be able to take them into places of worship, it’s just absolutely irrational. It’s totally irrational.”
Pro-gun proponents have repeatedly argued that arming good guys with firearms is essentially the only tried-and-true method to stop bad guys with firearms from committing mass atrocities. Those same bad guys tend to pick “soft targets” — or areas like schools that are “gun-free zones.”
As was proven in Texas today, having armed citizens at the ready is yet another win for supporters of the Second Amendment, as it clearly prevented a potentially massive body count if the gunman had free reign to target everyone inside.

Biden, who’s clearly pandering to the anti-gun left, also indicated at the time that there was absolutely no room for compromise on the gun issue when asked that question.
“None. None on this. I think this is no compromise. This is one we have to just push, and push, and push, and push, and push,” Biden said, before making a gaffe about banning “magazines that hold multiple bullets” — which is nearly every firearm on the planet.
Texas state Senator Donna Campbell, co-sponsor of the bill that armed churchgoers, summed up her thoughts on giving good guys the opportunity to defend others from bad guys.
“It makes no sense to disarm the good guys and leave law-abiding citizens defenseless where violent offenders break the law to do great harm,” she said.
