Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is apparently feeling competitive in the lead up to the November presidential election, as she made headlines on Tuesday after an interview with Variety revealed that she has “the urge” to make another run for the Oval Office.
According to The New York Post, Clinton told the magazine that she not only feels like running again, but said that she thinks the outcome of the 2016 election was not only an “odd time,” but also an “odd outcome.”
“Yeah. I certainly feel the urge because I feel the 2016 election was a really odd time and an odd outcome,” Clinton said on Monday.
But Clinton stopped short of dropping any additional hints that she might secretly be gearing up for a surprise entrance in the 2020 election, saying she would fully back and support the eventual Democratic presidential nominee.
“And the more we learn, the more that seems to be the case. But I’m going to support the people who are running now and do everything I can to help elect the Democratic nominee,” Clinton added.
Clinton’s interview was part of her PR tour for a documentary called Hillary that she’s currently promoting.
The former first lady has compiled a number of varying excuses for why she lost the last presidential election, which was her second failed run at the White House. Rumors and speculation over past months claim that Clinton might be considering giving it a third run, but there hasn’t been any remote confirmation that she’ll throw her hat in the ring.
