It seems like there’s a new, 20-year-old video coming out every single day refuting the impeachment talk of congressional Democrats against President Donald Trump.
And it seems Rep. Jerry Nadler is the latest victim.
During a CNN broadcast, host Dana Bash showed Nadler some stunning footage of himself in 1998 decrying the very way he and his fellow Democrats are currently acting with regard to impeachment.
“There must never be a narrowly voted impeachment or an impeachment substantially supported by one of our major political parties, and largely opposed by the other,” Nadler said in the 1998 clip.
“Such an impeachment would lack legitimacy, would produce divisiveness and bitterness in our politics for years to come,” he stated.
When Bash questioned why he’s not staying true to his words, Nadler diverted his attention away from the video and focused on dog-piling attacks on Trump.
Watch the exchange:
Nadler has been for the impeachment of Trump since the very beginning of the president’s time in office, claiming that there’s enough incriminating evidence against him that a jury would deem him guilty “in about three minutes flat.”
However, many Americans aren’t impressed with the move to impeach, as independents across the board are tuning out the hearings, according to recent polling.
