Joe Biden Goes Off-Script At Campaign Stop: ‘Kids Used To … Rub My Legs’

Well, if this isn’t Joe Biden’s most odd gaffe, then I don’t know what is.

During a campaign stop in Wilmington, Delaware, the presidential candidate and former vice president made some of the most awkward statements to ever come out of a politicians mouth.

Biden talked about kids rubbing his “hairy legs” and watching the hair rise, along with loving to have children sit on his lap.

“And by the way I sit on a stand, I got hot, I got hairy legs that turn, that, that, that, turn blond in the sun,” the former vice president said. “And the kids used to come up and reach in and pull and rub my legs, and watch the hairs rise up again. So I learned about roaches. I learned about kids jumping up on my lap. And I love kids jumping on my lap.”

Here’s the video:

There has been no shortage of gaffes coming from Biden over the years, but this might be his strangest incident yet.

Time Magazine actually has a list of Biden’s top ten gaffes in his lengthy political career, with anything from him dropping F-bombs on stage to racist comments about the Indian community.

Many people have speculated over the years that Biden has a stuttering problem that he tries to correct by simply spitting out the first thing on his mind to keep the flow of discussion going. This may be the case as he stuttered several words in the comments about his legs and kids.

As for the impact these comments will have on the campaign trail, we may never know — but we do know that it’s not a good look for a presidential candidate looking to bounce back from a sluggish past few months.

Will Biden be able to collect himself long enough to make a good run into the primary election? Or will he fizzle out as a new Democratic candidate takes the mantle?
