Michael Moore is arguably one of the largest and most vocal critics of President Donald Trump and anything even remotely connected to conservatism or the Republican party, but a recent admission from the liberal documentary maker will likely cause quite a stir among his followers.
According to Real Clear Politics, during a recent interview with Democracy Now!, Moore admitted that Trump’s supporters haven’t budged by even “one inch,” and said that if the election were held right now, Trump would easily win re-election to the White House.
“I think if the election were held today,” Moore said of a Trump victory. “Hillary won by 3 million popular votes. I believe whoever the Democrat is next year is going to win by 4 to 5 million popular votes.”
“There’s no question in my mind that people who stayed home, who sat on the bench, they’re going to pour out, in California, New York and — you know, but also in Texas and whatever, I mean, places that Trump will probably win, but, yeah, there’s going to be a much higher percentage of people voting against him,” Moore continued.
“The problem is, if the vote were today, I believe, he would win the electoral states that he would need, because, living out there, I will tell you, his level of support has not gone down one inch,” Moore added.

But Moore didn’t just offer up such a compliment to the president without taking a jab at him. He claimed that Trump would likely win today because his supporters are “scared” and have witnessed his behavior, implying that it would cause an uptick in voter turnout from Trump’s “rabid” base of supporters come election day.
Moore also took a jab at the large remaining field of Democratic candidates and implied that none of them are exciting enough to truly energize Democratic voters across the country. He even took a heavy swing at 2016 Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.
“What we have to do is we have to make sure we don’t give them another Hillary Clinton to vote for,” Moore said.
