Former Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich pulled no punches when discussing House manager Adam Schiff.
During a Fox News interview with Laura Ingraham on Friday, the former Speaker of the House called Schiff both a “deranged human being” and a “pathological liar.”
“I think it also incumbent on Schiff. I mean Schiff personally, is obviously — a deranged human being. This is about Schiff. You know, Schiff is a guy who is a pathological liar,” Gingrich stated.
“He lied for two-and-a-half years about the Russian collusion. It all disintegrated. He looked like a fool. He learned nothing. He came back and lied again and again. And you’re right. Here we are at the end of this cycle, and he goes back and decides to lie again. I think, somehow, people have got to decide that Adam Schiff is a compulsive, uncontrollable liar,” he added.
This comes after Schiff refused to answer a question Thursday from Republican Sen. Ron Johnson about his relationship with the alleged whistleblower, deeming it a “disgraceful” inquiry.
“Members of this body used to care about the protection of whistleblower identities,” Schiff commented. “Now they take an unsubstantiated press article and use it to smear my staff. I think that’s disgraceful.”
This concern by Johnson and other GOP senators was supported by a Washington Post fact-checking article that gave Schiff “4 Pinocchios” for his unsatisfactory answers on his relationship to the alleged whistleblower.
