Politicians are supposed to be beholden to their constituents, working to do the best job they can to honor the constitution and find solutions to complex problems.
So when Democratic Rep. Abigail Spanberger returned to her home district in Virginia after jumping on the pro-impeachment bandwagon, she had to face the music of her angry constituents.
And boy, they were angry.
According to TheBlaze, during a Town Hall she attended, she was met with serious pushback after calling the allegations against President Donald Trump “incredibly, incredibly serious.”
One man blurted out: “Incredible bulls**t!”
Another chimed in, saying, “It’s crap!”
One cried out, “It’s a lie. It’s all lies!”
Watch the clip:
In addition to calling Trump’s alleged behavior “incredibly serious,” she also said that the burden of proof is on the president, instead of the whistleblower and various others who reportedly have knowledge of the call between Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky. Well, this only increased the tension in the Town Hall by a great deal.
“[Trump] hasn’t done anything wrong!” one man told Spanberger.
“Did you really say that? You have to prove you’re innocent?” another person told Spanberger, CNN reported.
“Y’all have been trying to impeach this man since he got elected,” said another.
