On Wednesday, Star Wars actress Daisy Ridley didn’t hold back her thoughts on right-leaning politicians.
In an interview with The Guardian, she criticized President Donald Trump and his supporters, deeming anyone who would support him as not being sane.
“I don’t feel I have to edit what I say — the things that make me angry are the things that make everyone angry,” Ridley told The Guardian’s Nasheen Iqbal. “Everyone is annoyed with BoJo [British Prime Minister Boris Johnson]. Everyone has an issue with Trump — every sane person anyway.”
Ridley continued, stating that she won’t censor herself.
“It’s not that I don’t talk about this stuff, but other people are so much more articulate than me and say it better,” Ridley added.
Ridley has long expressed left-leaning sentiments before her recent comments about Trump. In 2016, she was very clear in her stance against Brexit, telling her fans to vote to remain in the European Union.
President Trump shouldn’t worry about what the British actress said, as he’s hovering at a 50 percent general approval rating and maintaining a stellar approval rating amongst likely black voters. Additionally, his rallies are bringing in tens of thousands of supporters, who are ready to help fight the latest impeachment process by congressional Democrats.
Ridley’s movie, Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, is arriving at theaters in December, where she will play Rey in the lead role.
