Trump Accuses ‘Mini Mike Bloomberg’ Of Running False Campaign Ads About Healthcare

President Donald Trump decided to hit back at former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg on Monday after the billionaire’s weekend ad blitz — part of which slammed the Trump administration’s handling of the ever-concerning health care crisis.

Trump hit the former NYC mayor hard, even invoking a nickname that he’s used in the past for Bloomberg, according to Fox News.

“Mini Mike Bloomberg is spending a lot of money on False Advertising. I was the person who saved Pre-Existing Conditions in your Healthcare, you have it now, while at the same time winning the fight to rid you of the expensive, unfair and very unpopular Individual Mandate,” Trump tweeted on Monday morning.

The president then doubled down on his commitment to making U.S. health care the best in the world, promising that if Republicans manage to win back the House of Representatives in November, that he would be able to work with Congress to make health care great again.

“And, if Republicans win in court and take back the House of Representatives, your healthcare, that I have now brought to the best place in many years, will become the best ever, by far,” he continued. “I will always protect your Pre-Existing Conditions, the Dems will not!” Trump tweeted.

Bloomberg, or one of his campaign member, responded to Trump’s retort with a snarky tweet telling the president that he should tag them in future Twitter posts.

Bloomberg’s campaign also doubled down, slamming Trump’s Department of Justice for apparently supporting a lawsuit that diminishes protections for pre-existing health conditions.

“Glad to see you’re watching our ads, @realDonaldTrump. I know management isn’t your strong suit, so perhaps you don’t know your Justice Department supports a suit that would undermine protections for pre-existing conditions. Now that you know, why not ask them to drop the suit?” Bloomberg tweeted.

Bloomberg’s response and his ad blitz over the weekend, on top of the monumental amount of money he’s spent so far in the 2020 presidential campaign, haven’t yet seemed to pay off, as he sits firmly in the middle of the pack of Democratic candidates and is barely registering any polling support in a number of crucial early-voting states.

As previously reported by Daily Sounder, Bloomberg held a series of events over the weekend that featured his latest endorser and popular television personality Judge Judy Sheindlin. The events reportedly didn’t draw many supporters.
