On Tuesday, TIME Magazine announced their winner of the 2019 “Person of the Year” title — 16-year-old climate change activist Greta Thunberg.
However, an official Twitter campaign feed for President Trump made a few small tweaks to the photo of Thunberg standing on the shore, staring off into the sunset.
That’s right, they put Trump’s face on Thunberg’s body. Take a look:
When it comes to keeping his promises, there's only one Person Of The Year:
— Trump War Room (Text TRUMP to 88022) (@TrumpWarRoom) December 12, 2019
Additionally, the text TIME had — which originally read “Greta Thunberg, The Power Of Youth” — was changed to “Donald Trump, The Power Of Promises Kept.” The tweet lists off a half-dozen promises Trump has kept during his time in the White House thus far.
On Thursday morning, President Trump called out both Thunberg and TIME, saying, “So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!”
Greta responded very subtly, changing her Twitter bio to read: “A teenager working on her anger management problem. Currently chilling and watching a good old fashioned movie with a friend.”
The Swedish teenager has worked for the last year to lead school kids out of their classrooms and into the streets, organizing protests against world leaders and the United Nations in the streets and demanding action against climate change and greenhouse gas emissions.
