Trump Retweets Image Of Pelosi And Schumer Wearing Traditional Islamic Garb, Twitter Goes Nuts

President Donald Trump has stepped up his attacks on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in recent days as he and his legal team prepare for the upcoming Senate impeachment trial.

According to Mediaite, on Monday morning, the president retweeted a photoshopped image that depicted Schumer and Pelosi wearing Islamic clothing while standing in front of the Iranian flag. The picture was presumably a dig at the two Democrats who have openly criticized Trump for his military actions against Iran — including the strike on Gen. Soleimani — in recent weeks.

The tweet pictured the two congressional leader and was captioned with “Democrats 2020.”

As expected, the retweet drew loads of both criticism and praise across social media. Many accused Trump of botching the Iran situation while many others heaped praise on the president for keeping America safe.

The remainder of Trump’s early morning involved even more tweets that were highly critical of Pelosi and Democrats on the heels of their criticism for the way the president handled the Iran situation overall.

“The Fake News Media and their Democrat Partners are working hard to determine whether or not the future attack by terrorist Soleimani was “eminent” or not, & was my team in agreement. The answer to both is a strong YES., but it doesn’t really matter because of his horrible past!” Trump tweeted.

Trump went on to attack what he called the “Do Nothing Democrats,” and questioned why so many attempted to depict Soleimani as a “good guy” when, in reality, he was responsible for a long list of atrocities against American troops and interests.

“The Democrats and the Fake News are trying to make terrorist Soleimani into a wonderful guy, only because I did what should have been done for 20 years. Anything I do, whether it’s the economy, military, or anything else, will be scorned by the Rafical Left, Do Nothing Democrats!” Trump tweeted on Monday morning.

The Senate impeachment trial is expected to start within 24 hours of the official transmission of the articles of impeachment from the House to the Senate, though it’s still not completely clear on when — or if — Pelosi is going to make the move.
