Just when you thought the folks behind President Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign couldn’t top themselves, well, it turns out they just did. As doctors, nurses and everyone on the front line of the battle against COVID-19 use their skills to keep us all healthy and safe, they probably tend to get hungry from time to time.
And that’s where Trump’s campaign team has reportedly stepped up to the plate, Breitbart reported.
The campaign team has been buying meals from restaurants across the country in an effort to not only feed well-deserving healthcare workers, but also to help bolster local restaurant business while the economy is experiencing a temporary shut-down over virus spread concerns.
“They’re doing it as a donor who cares,” a source told Fox News. “So nothing politically is tied to it… We’re just trying to, you know, show a thank you.”
“They’re trying to send things that are like, local restaurants that may need support [and] cool restaurant icons of the area that may need the business,” the source said.
Anonymous individuals from Trump’s campaign team have been placing large, expensive orders across the area, surely making both restaurant workers and healthcare workers happy at the same time.
One staffer called a restaurant known as Antonio’s Trattoria and placed 100 orders, with the delicious meals being delivered to a hospital in the hard-hit Bronx area of New York City.
“It was 20 penne vodkas, 20 pastas with tomato sauce, 30 chicken parmesans, and 30 house salads with grilled chicken,” the manager told Fox News. “He only gave his first name and said he wanted to remain anonymous.”
