President Donald Trump had his opposition raging mad on Friday morning after he apparently “outed” the CIA whistleblower who first filed a complaint — based on second and third-hand information — about the July 25 phone call between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky which would later spark an impeachment hearing.
According to Mediaite, on Thursday night the president retweeted a post from his campaign’s official Twitter account, known as the “Trump War Room,” which contained a link to an article from The Washington Examiner which named the alleged whistleblower from the U.S. intelligence community.
Though the whistleblower that was named has never been confirmed as the true whistleblower, many online news outlets have previously named him as being the one and Trump’s retweet marks the first time he’s ever acknowledged the whistleblower on public record.
The retweet from Trump came after his campaign’s Twitter team responded to an attack by Mark Zaid — the alleged whistleblower’s attorney — in which he claimed that Republican Rep. Marsha Blackburn should not sit on the Senate Whistleblower Caucus.
“It’s pretty simple,” Trump’s campaign posted. “The CIA ‘whistleblower’ is not a real whistleblower!” The tweet response to Zaid was accompanied by the Washington Examiner article that named the whistleblower earlier this month as Eric Ciaramella — and laid out a detailed case as to why he is likely the original whistleblower who kicked off the impeachment inquiry.

Not unexpectedly, because Trump retweeted the article, a long list of Twitter users had a lot to say about it.
One user wrote, “Good job! Way to throw that Whistleblower protection law into the trash! Very presidential of you! Any more laws you want to break while you’re under impeachment?”
Another wrote,“Trump isn’t a real president.”
And one angry user wrote, “Have you no shame, sir? WTF is wrong with you?”
The president also received plenty of praise for retweeting the article that named the whistleblower, with many of Trump’s supporters weighing in with their thoughts and providing alternate theories claiming that perhaps House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff is the real whistleblower.
