Video Shows Schumer Telling ‘Invisible Person’ To Leave His Chair, Drawing Confused Looks

This is one of the stranger political videos you’ll see in recent years.

During the impeachment proceedings in the Senate on Tuesday, an eagle-eyed viewer spotted Majority Leader Chuck Schumer seemingly asking an “invisible person” to get out of his assigned seat.

Senators nearby — including Sens. Murray and Feinstein — appeared to be rather confused by the scene.

Here’s another angle that captures more reactions:

Some conservative Twitter users drew some interesting conclusions from this odd sight, with one saying, “A demonic spirit? This is what happens when they sell their souls…”

Another claimed it was mental health problems: “We need mental health evaluations of all these Congress people. This is sad. Do we really want people who bring their imaginary friends to work representing us?”

In the last month, Schumer has argued on multiple occasions for additional witnesses and evidence at the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump. The New York senator is looking to have individuals like national security advisor John Bolton and White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney subpoenaed.
