Since the beginning of the impeachment hearings initiated by Reps. Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi, Vice President Mike Pence has remained relatively quiet on the debacle, letting his Republican colleagues battle it out in the trenches.
But after the most recent testimony by Professor Pamela Karlan — in which she mocked 13-year-old Barron Trump’s name in order to make a flashy soundbite — Pence decided it was time to speak out.
“The impeachment hearings today reached a new low,” Pence told the media while in Michigan. “I just heard at the hearing today, one of the Democrats’ witnesses actually used the President and first lady’s 13-year-old son to justify their partisan impeachment. Democrats should be ashamed.”
Pence continued, hitting back hard at the controversial impeachment process set in motion by congressional Democrats: “Enough is enough. This sham impeachment should end, and congress should get back to work on issues that are important to the American people.”
On Wednesday afternoon, after Karlan made her inappropriate remarks about Barron Trump in front of the House Judiciary Committee, First Lady Melania Trump issued a blistering tweet that called out the law professor.
“A minor child deserves privacy and should be kept out of politics. Pamela Karlan, you should be ashamed of your very angry and obviously biased public pandering, and using a child to do it,” the First Lady stated.

Later in the day, Karlan apologized for bringing up the president’s youngest son during the hearing.
