President Donald Trump gave powerful speech before all of congress and America on Tuesday night during his annual State of the Union address — and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripped it all up.
Yes, literally. Pelosi took the transcript of Trump’s speech and tore it up right behind the president when he was speaking.
When the House speaker was asked why she did what she did, she replied that it was “a courteous thing to do considering the alternative,” adding that “it was such a dirty speech.”
But the Trump White House didn’t bat an eye, responding in a blistering fashion:
“Speaker Pelosi just ripped up: One of our last surviving Tuskegee Airmen. The survival of a child born at 21 weeks. The mourning families of Rocky Jones and Kayla Mueller. A service member’s reunion with his family. That’s her legacy,” the White House said of Pelosi.
This temper tantrum comes days after GOP senators shut down a witness vote in the impeachment proceedings and just a day before those same senators will vote to acquit Trump of both impeachment articles Pelosi submitted.
