Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who not long ago was — at least according to the polls — a somewhat clear front-runner for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, has taken a virtual beating in recent weeks, losing ground to former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders and even Pete Buttigieg.
And her week went from bad to worse, according to Breitbart, as she was apparently heckled at a New Hampshire town hall event and was accused of “siding with terrorists.” An angry person in the crowd confronted the senator, calling her out for taking sides with Iran over President Donald Trump’s drone strike that resulted in the death of Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
“You’re siding with racists; you’re siding with Iran. What are you siding with terrorists for?” the angry man yelled at Warren. “My grandfather died in World War II. You’re a fraud! Disgusting!”
Warren replied to the man and the audience, saying “This is a man who is deeply upset.”
The angry man doubled down, reminding her of the death and destruction Soleimani caused U.S. troops in the past. “He killed 600 Marines,” the man in reference to Soleimani. “We killed a terrorist. Trump is great. You’re a fraud. I helped rape victims, and you’re lying.”
Warren, who appeared to be somewhat at a loss for a snappy reply, simply said, “It’s good to see you.”
The angry protester didn’t let that slide either, and replied, “It’s good to see you, too. I hope you resign.”

Later, after the town hall event was finished, Warren elaborated on the situation by calling the man “disturbed.”
“I think getting into a shouting match with a man who’s so clearly disturbed is not helpful to him, and not helpful to anyone,” Warren said.
The senator and presidential candidate was one of Trump’s harshest critics over the decision to target and kill Soleimani, calling Trump “reckless” and accusing the president of needlessly escalating tensions between Iran and the United States.
